Position: Advisor for Indigenous Engagement and Relations
Location: Petrolia

Shape the future of community relations as an Advisor for Indigenous Engagement and Rural Relations in Fort McMurray. Play a pivotal role in promoting inclusivity and cultural understanding.

This full-time temporary position focuses on liaising with Indigenous communities, ensuring that their feedback informs municipal services and initiatives. In your role, you’ll assist in program delivery, support reconciliation efforts, and enhance community partnerships that elevate the quality of life for all residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with Indigenous and rural communities effectively

• Develop protocols that reflect Indigenous traditions

• Guide policy implementation within the department

• Foster partnerships on inclusive community projects

• Provide strategic advice to Council on legislative matters

Requirements:

• Five years of relevant experience with Indigenous communities

• Competence in Indigenous cultural issues

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently

• Class Five Operator’s License necessary

Contribute to the meaningful engagement and representation of Indigenous communities within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
