Role Overview
The role ensures the reliability, security, and quality of court application services across legacy systems and modern platforms. It also supports the shift toward standardized IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, replacing fragmented legacy tracking systems. You will translate business needs into technical requirements, manage vendors, support data platforms, and ensure court data is treated as a secure and strategic asset. This is a T-shaped role, requiring both functional knowledge and strong communication skills to work with diverse judicial stakeholders across Alberta s courts.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Management & ITSM Transition
- Lead transition from emails/legacy tools to ITSM platforms (ServiceNow/Jira).
- Design workflows for incident, request, and service management.
- Coordinate major incidents and ensure timely communication during system outages.
- Support change and release management to minimize operational risk to courts.
- Application Stewardship & Business Analysis
- Gather and document requirements from judiciary users (Justices and court staff).
- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
- Monitor vendor and internal team performance against SLAs and quality standards.
- Maintain documentation and user guides to support knowledge sharing.
- Data Governance & Platform Support
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and judicial confidentiality standards.
- Support data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) at a functional level (access reviews, dashboards, data integrity checks).
- Oversee migration of applications and data between environments (Dev/Prod, on-prem to cloud such as Azure/AWS).
- Process Improvement & Risk Management
- Identify and recommend improvements to application workflows and processes.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning/testing.
- Convert technical updates into reports and insights for leadership decision-making.
Must Have Requirements
- Experience as an Application Analyst or in a similar role
- 4+ years experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
- 2+ years experience in Agile/Scrum environments supporting application delivery
- 1+ year experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and monitoring

Additional Experience
- 1+ year experience in regulated environments (Government, Healthcare, Legal, etc.)

- 1+ year experience with data warehouse and reporting tools (e.g., Snowflake)
- 1+ year experience with ITSM tools, workflows, and documentation practices
