Role Description The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Saskatoon, SK, responsible for supporting the Store Manager in daily store operations and team leadership. This role includes leading and motivating the sales team, contributing to scheduling, coaching, and performance feedback, and ensuring a consistently high level of customer service. The Assistant Manager helps drive sales through effective merchandising, product presentation, and execution of promotional activities, while maintaining store standards, cleanliness, and visual guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities also include monitoring key performance indicators, assisting with inventory management, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. The role works closely with the Store Manager to foster an inclusive, collaborative environment aligned with Laura Canada’s mission and values.
Qualifications
- Retail leadership and team management skills, including experience supervising staff, providing coaching, and supporting performance development.
- Customer service and sales skills, with the ability to build relationships, understand client needs, and drive a positive in-store experience.
- Operational and organizational skills, such as inventory handling, scheduling support, and maintaining store standards and compliance.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Basic business and analytical skills, with the ability to understand sales targets, interpret store metrics, and contribute to action plans.
- Previous experience in fashion or retail management is an asset, along with knowledge of visual merchandising principles.
- Ability to work on-site full time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, and to stand and move around the store for extended periods.
