Introduction:
Robertson is seeking a skilled Business Data analyst to join our client in support of an existing vacancy.
Contract Period: 12 months
Pay Rate: Starting from $32 per hour
Location: Toronto, ON
Location Type: Hybrid
Business Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and support simple business solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate
- Identify manual processes and develop automation opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk
- Create and enhance workflows to support business processes, approvals, data collection, and reporting activities
- Support maintenance, enhancements, and issue resolution for existing Power Platform solutions
- Collaborate with business users to understand needs and deliver practical automation solutions
- Evaluate opportunities to use low-code technologies to improve user experience and streamline operations
- Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, and automation
- Document current-state and future-state workflows
- Perform root cause analysis to identify process inefficiencies, pain points, and operational risks
- Recommend and support implementation of process improvements
- Contribute to continuous improvement and transformation initiatives
- Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, risks, exceptions, and opportunities
- Design and develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI and related tools
- Define, document, and track business KPIs and performance metrics
- Translate business questions into meaningful metrics and actionable insights
- Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements
- Understand and document data flows across business processes and systems
- Support data mapping, data flow documentation, and reporting requirements
- Assist with basic data modelling and reporting design activities
- Help ensure business requirements are aligned with reporting, analytics, and data solutions
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Data, and Technology stakeholders
- Facilitate discussions to understand business challenges, improvement opportunities, and solution requirements
- Communicate findings, options, and recommendations clearly
- Support adoption of new processes, reporting solutions, automations, and ways of working
Experience & Qualification Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: process improvement, data and analytics, reporting and dashboard development, Power Platform development, business operations, or low-code automation
- Hands-on experience building or supporting solutions using Power Apps and/or Power Automate
- Experience working with data to support business decision-making
- Experience developing reports, dashboards, KPIs, performance metrics, or analytical insights
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-thinking skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively across business and technical teams in a collaborative environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs
- Power BI development and dashboard design experience
- Experience with SharePoint, Dataverse, Microsoft Lists, or related Microsoft 365 technologies
- Understanding of data flows, data mapping, and basic data modelling concepts
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
- Experience documenting processes, workflows, business rules, or operational procedures
- Exposure to VBA, Python, or Alteryx
- Financial services experience is considered an asset.
