Introduction
We are seeking an experienced Buyer who is eager to grow their career with our client who is a global leader in water technologies. As a Buyer, you’ll be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products, processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance, and liaising with inventory teams and management. Additionally, you will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand. This is a six-month contract opportunity, working on a hybrid schedule (three days in-office), with the intention of growing the candidates career with the company on a long-term basis.
Responsibilities
- Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
- Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
- Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
- Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
- Coordinate with the inventory team, management, and stockroom as required.
- Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
Requirements
- Language skills: Fluent in English.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum 3 years Purchasing/Supply Chain experience.
- Minimum 2 years SAP/ ERP experience.
- Strong Written and spoken proficiency in English.
- Knowledge of the Chemical Industry and/or Water Treatment Chemicals.
- Good knowledge in Source to Pay, Procurement.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated capability of working in a team, prioritizing, multi-tasking, and organizing
- Strong quantitative, analytical and Google Sheet skills.
- Good customer service skills.
