Location: Montreal Area (Remote Friendly)
Salary: CA$200,000 base + equity (3–4%)

Auxo is hiring a Chief Technology Officer for a seed stage B2B SaaS company building infrastructure software for a specialized financial services vertical.
This role sits at the core of the company. The CTO will lead engineering, own architecture decisions, and contribute directly to the product codebase. The platform already supports billions in financial activity and serves enterprise level clients with strict security and compliance requirements.
This is a role for a builder. Someone who still writes code, enjoys solving complex architecture problems, and can guide a senior engineering team while representing the technical vision to clients, investors, and enterprise IT stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Contribute directly to the codebase alongside the engineering team
- Lead and mentor a small team of senior engineers
- Own system architecture, infrastructure decisions, and long term technical strategy
- Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and performance
- Maintain and strengthen the company’s cloud security posture and engineering standards
- Oversee technical aspects of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2
- Collaborate closely with product leadership on roadmap and technical feasibility
- Represent the technical platform to enterprise clients, investors, and IT procurement teams
- Drive adoption of modern AI capabilities within the product and development workflows
- Improve engineering processes, tooling, and development velocity
Who You Are
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- 3+ years in a senior leadership role such as CTO, VP Engineering, or Head of Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in fintech, lending, or capital markets
- Strong hands on full stack engineering background and still actively coding
- Experience scaling enterprise SaaS platforms in production environments
- Deep experience with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of software security and compliance environments
- Experience working with financial systems, lending platforms, or regulated environments
- Comfortable leading small senior teams and making architecture decisions
- Able to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders
- Curious about modern AI tooling and how it can improve product capabilities and engineering workflows
