Trane is hiring a Senior Construction Project Manager! The Senior Construction Project Manager will manage all aspects of multi-million-dollar construction / energy services / HVAC controls projects portfolio.

They will have direct responsibility for project financials, administration, implementation, management and customer satisfaction.

They will lead the project team through all facets of the project and are the established point of contact for stakeholders, and support project development efforts to scope total solutions.

What you will do

  • Support sales functions by assisting with quote preparation, project development, and proposals.
  • Validate project scope, cost, schedule by reviewing contract documents, attending pre-bid validation meetings, holding internal meetings, and establishing customer expectations.
  • Responsible for change order management by identifying opportunities, recommending solutions, facilitating quotes, utilizing pricing strategies, and closing orders providing total solutions across business streams.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by supporting company initiatives, building customer relationships, investigating concerns, implementing corrective actions, and developing communication plans with both internal and external stakeholders to provide timely project updates.
  • Utilize properly qualified subcontractors, oversee subcontractor RFQ process, award subcontracts, manage subcontractor execution, collaborate with subcontractors to establish communication guidelines for project progress, project meetings, billing expectations, project safety and foster professional relationships with subcontractors.
  • Financially manage all aspects of projects including cash flow, monthly forecasted cost/revenue, forecasted cost at completion, monitoring expenses, collections support, applied cost, buy-out plans, and oversee preparation and communications for monthly backlog review with leaders.
  • Create and maintain project schedules generating tasks, dependencies, milestones, critical path, resource assignments, identify future planning needs and resource constraints, and collaborate with Controls PM to establish project task communications for progress, and review of plans/specifications and control submittals.
  • Lead all aspects of project administration including knowledge of and adherence to contract penalty clauses and/or liquidated damages, analyze reporting to identify project deficiencies and provide guidance on corrective actions, manage projects to business compliance, project documentation, safety guidelines, and maneuver through governing agency requirements at state, city, county, federal and local levels.

What you will bring

  • Advanced understanding of construction energy project development phases and opportunities, and knowledge of all construction systems and technologies.
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to mentor other project managers, aptitude to influence without authority, organizational expertise, strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to successfully lead a project team.
  • Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Project Management degree.
  • Combination of degree or 10 years experience.
  • Ability to obtain a General Contracting license (a plus).
  • Experience with project scheduling/PM construction software.
