The Role

This is more than a traditional Controller position. You will own the finance and accounting function while building the financial systems, processes, and reporting that support a fast-growing global organization. Working directly with the founders and leadership team, you'll transform finance into a strategic business partner that provides visibility, accountability, and confidence across every department.

What You'll Own

•     Lead the company's finance and accounting function across multiple business lines

•     Own month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

•     Build scalable financial systems, controls, and processes that support continued growth

•     Develop executive dashboards, KPIs, and reporting that improve business decision making

•     Partner with leadership on financial planning, scenario modeling, and strategic initiatives

•     Oversee accounting operations, payroll, AP/AR, banking relationships, tax compliance, and external accounting partners

•     Improve financial visibility across operations, customer success, sales, media, technology, and product teams

•     Evaluate and implement finance technology that increases automation, efficiency, and reporting accuracy

•     Support multiple revenue streams including memberships, education, certifications, live events, consumer products, partnerships, licensing, and media

•     Build and develop the internal finance function as the company continues to grow

Who You Are

•     CPA (US or Canadian) required

•     5+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership, including Controller or similar senior finance experience

•     Experience working in a high-growth, entrepreneurial business

•     Proven ability to build systems, improve processes, and create financial structure

•     Strong understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, cash management, internal controls, and multi-entity operations

•     Comfortable partnering directly with founders and senior leadership

•     Excellent communicator who translates financial information into business decisions

•     Naturally proactive, highly organized, and accountable

•     Experience with education, memberships, digital commerce, media, consumer products, or subscription-based businesses is an asset
