Role Description
The Dental Ceramist will be responsible for designing, layering, and finishing ceramic restorations, including crowns, bridges, veneers, and other esthetic dental prosthetics. Day‑to‑day tasks include shade selection, ceramic build‑up, contouring, staining and glazing, and ensuring restorations meet functional and esthetic requirements. The role involves collaborating with dentists and other laboratory technicians to review case specifications, interpret prescriptions, and resolve technical challenges in complex cases.
The Dental Ceramist will maintain accurate case documentation, follow laboratory protocols, and uphold quality and safety standards. This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Oakville, ON.
Qualifications
- Strong Laboratory Skills, including ceramic layering, finishing, and use of lab equipment.
- Proficiency in Dental Technology and understanding of restorative materials and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of Dentistry fundamentals, including occlusion, anatomy, and esthetics.
- Experience working within Laboratory Technicians teams and coordinating on complex cases.
- Hands‑on experience with Dentures or related removable prosthetics is an asset.
- Previous work as a dental ceramist or dental technician in a commercial or clinical lab setting.
- Ability to interpret dental prescriptions, write clear case notes, and communicate effectively with clinicians.
- High attention to detail, manual dexterity, and commitment to quality and infection control standards.
- Relevant diploma or certification in dental technology or dental laboratory sciences preferred.
