About the Opportunity

  • Business Finance Leadership & Decision Support
    • Act as the primary finance partner to the Locates General Managers, supporting strategic planning, operational decision-making, and execution of growth initiatives.
    • Provide proactive financial insight on productivity, utilization, pricing, contract economics, and margin performance to support both short-term decisions and long-term value creation.
    • Translate operational drivers into clear financial implications, enabling leaders to understand trade-offs and optimize outcomes across safety, service, cost, and profitability
    • Present financial results to Board of Directors
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
    • Lead the annual budget, forecast, and long-range planning processes for the Locates division, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and operational realities (P&L, Capital, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
    • Own pricing, margin management, and profitability analysis, including customer, contract, and service-line level insights
    • Develop and maintain robust financial models to support scenario analysis, growth planning, and capital allocation decisions
    • Partner with company Finance to ensure consistent assumptions, modeling standards, and KPI definitions with the company group
  • Full-Cycle Accounting & Financial Reporting
    • Oversee full-cycle accounting responsibilities for the division, including billings, payables, month-end close, variance analysis, and results review
    • Monthly financial reporting with presentations to General Managers
    • Collaborate closely with company Accounting and Controllership teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with enterprise policies and standards
    • Ensure financial results are well understood by operational leaders, with clear explanations of performance versus plan, prior periods, and key drivers
    • Annual audit requirements and control reviews with external auditors and internal auditors
  • Commercial & Contractual Finance
    • Provide business analysis on commercial arrangements, including contract structuring, pricing strategies, renewals, and customer negotiations.
    • Evaluate financial risks and returns associated with new business, contract changes, and operational initiatives, ensuring disciplined decision-making.
    • Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
    • Identify and drive business improvement opportunities through analysis of margins, cost structures, productivity, and operational KPIs.
    • Promote consistent financial practices, planning methodologies, and performance metrics across the division.
    • Partner with company Finance Systems and Digital Solutions teams to enhance planning, reporting, and analytics capabilities (e.g., Prophix, Power

      BI), improving insight and efficiency over time.

  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Build strong cross-functional relationships
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, influencing decisions through clear, objective, and actionable financial insight.
    • Contribute to the broader Finance leadership team by sharing best practices, supporting enterprise initiatives, and mentoring finance talent as required

About You

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • CPA designation strongly preferred; additional finance or business credentials considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience leading finance for an operations-focused business unit, including full-cycle accounting and FP&A responsibilities.
  • Proven expertise in pricing, margin management, and commercial decision support within a service- or asset-intensive environment.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate insights clearly to non-finance leaders.
  • Experience working in a matrixed finance environment with shared services or corporate accounting support.
  • Proficiency with financial planning, reporting, and analytics tools (e.g., Prophix, Power
