Equipment Supply Technician

The Equipment Supply Technician position is a key part of a team that provides a well‑maintained, safe, effective and efficient fleet of vehicles designed to give optimal customer service and patient care. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring all ambulances are safe, effective, maintained, cleaned and stocked in accordance with policies and procedures as stated by MHSW – Central AB.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all vehicles in accordance with all policies of MHSW – Central AB.
  • Compile a list of all mechanical, medical and cleaning parts and supplies as required.
  • Complete light mechanical repairs as directed.
  • Ensure all ambulances and support units based out of the Calgary Station are stocked in accordance with MHSW – Central AB Fleet Policy and Procedures at all times.
  • Complete drop‑off and pick‑ups of outsourced ambulances in conjunction with specific vendors as required.
  • Conduct all cleaning required to the vehicle interior or exterior in accordance with proper policies and stocking per company standards.
  • Perform other such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • One to two years of related experience and excellent working knowledge of inventory control processes and vehicle detailing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Working knowledge of standard computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Completed courses in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), and other courses related to ambulance manufacturing, repair, inventory control and cleaning, or willingness to obtain these courses within a specified period of time.
  • Required to have a Class 4 driver’s licence or willingness to obtain such within a specified period of time.
  • Self‑directed individual who displays good decision‑making skills and takes initiative as needed.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Enjoy working in a computerized, paperless workplace.
  • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with people and working in groups.

Compensation

Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance‑based incentive programs.
