Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Fire Protection Designer located in Winnipeg, MB. The Fire Protection Designer will be responsible for designing fire protection systems, preparing detailed installation layouts, reviewing building codes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with engineers and project managers, conducting site evaluations, and creating cost-effective and efficient solutions for fire safety designs.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software, drafting, and fire protection system design
- Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and fire protection regulations
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Diploma or degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- NICET certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology or equivalent is an asset
- Prior experience in fire protection system design is highly desirable
- Familiarity with hydraulic calculations and fire sprinkler design software is a plus
