Responsibilities
- Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail.
- Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment
- Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
- Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
- Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
- Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
- Strong field troubleshooting skills on the Caterpillar mining product line required
- Field technician experience
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with a successful recent driver abstract
- Dedication to safety
- Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
- Completion or being in the process of completing Finning S-level courses would also be considered an asset
Job Requirements
This position will work a 14×14 shift, rotating days and nights, and will provide support to Fort Hills shop and field.
Customer provided camp and flights from Calgary or Edmonton.
A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator.

Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
