Role Description
We are looking for a versatile, people-oriented HR Generalist to join our property management team. In this industry, our greatest assets aren’t just the buildings—it’s the people who maintain them and the residents who live in them.
You will act as the "boots on the ground" for all things HR, supporting a diverse workforce that includes leasing consultants, maintenance technicians, and corporate staff. Your mission is to streamline our people operations, ensure compliance across various property locations, and foster a culture where our team can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manage the hiring process for high-turnover roles (Leasing, Maintenance) and specialized corporate positions. This includes sourcing, screening, and facilitating a seamless onboarding experience.
- Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns. You’ll navigate the unique dynamics of on-site property teams, mediating conflicts and providing guidance on company policy.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all locations adhere to federal and state labor laws, as well as industry-specific requirements like Fair Housing Act awareness and OSHA safety standards for maintenance crews.
- Benefits & Payroll Administration: Coordinate open enrollment, manage leaves of absence (FMLA/STD), and partner with payroll to ensure accuracy for hourly and salaried employees.
- Performance Management: Support property managers in conducting annual reviews, identifying training needs, and executing Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) when necessary.
- Culture & Retention: Develop initiatives to boost morale across decentralized locations, including "Employee of the Month" programs or safety milestone celebrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Psychology, or Business.
- 3–5 years in a Generalist capacity; Property Management experience is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in HRIS and advanced knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter.
