Reporting to senior leadership, the IT Manager is Mactrans’ senior technology leader. You’ll own the systems and tools that keep our business running day to day, shape and execute our IT roadmap, and lead our partnership with our managed IT provider across desktop support, infrastructure, and cybersecurity. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys thinking strategically, solving problems, and rolling up their sleeves to make things happen. You’ll partner across the business to use technology to improve operations, enable growth, and help Mactrans scale for the future
What you’ll own
- Shape our technology roadmap to help Mactrans scale, modernize, and stay ahead of the industry
- Identify opportunities to simplify work, automate processes, and use technology to drive better business outcomes
- Keep our technology secure, reliable, and running smoothly so employees and customers can do their best work
- Own relationships with our managed IT partner and technology vendors to ensure high quality service and continuous improvement
- Lead the evolution of our business systems and EDI environment to improve efficiency, connectivity, and customer experience
- Deliver technology projects from idea to launch, ensuring they create measurable value and stay on time and on budget
- Manage our technology budget, software, hardware, and IT operations to maximize value and support future growth
- Build practical IT policies, security practices, and business continuity plans that protect the business and reduce risk
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years leading IT teams and technology strategy, including managing outsourced IT or MSP partners
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- You’re an experienced people leader who enjoys hiring, coaching, and building high-performing teams
- You can turn technical complexity into clear, practical decisions that build trust with leaders across the business
- You’ve led technology projects from planning through launch and know how to keep people aligned, remove roadblocks, and deliver results
- You know how to build strong vendor partnerships, negotiate effectively, and hold partners accountable for results
- Experience managing business applications such as TMS, ERP, and SaaS platforms that keep the business running
- Strong understanding of EDI operations and integrations, including working with customers and vendors to solve issues and improve connectivity
- Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or another fast-paced operational environment
Compensation
The base salary range for this role is $95,000 to $120,000 CAD plus an annual performance bonus. This salary range reflects the scope, responsibility, and impact of the position. We typically hire candidates who can step in and make meaningful impact early, while still having room to grow in the role. Where an offer lands within the range depends on job-related experience, leadership capability, and skill alignment, as well as internal equity. Compensation at Mactrans is performance driven. As your impact and scope grow, your compensation is reviewed and adjusted accordingly. We’re always happy to talk through our approach during the hiring process.
