Position: IT Network Specialist Role at Irving Oil
Become part of Irving Oil as a Senior IT Network Specialist, responsible for maintaining and enhancing our network infrastructure’s design and integrity.
Your role will be vital in ensuring seamless connectivity and operations throughout the organization.
This full-time role based in Saint John requires you to implement and manage a variety of networking devices. You will work collaboratively with teams to monitor services and mitigate security threats while managing hardware and software integrations. Your proactive approach will be essential in addressing potential issues and ensuring optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and troubleshoot switches, routers, and network access points
• Monitor and report on critical business systems’ performance
• Collaborate with security teams to prevent network attacks
• Coordinate with vendors during installations and upgrades
• Prepare reports on system performance and outages
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a related discipline
• 8+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in network management
• Strong knowledge of WAN/LAN, VPNs, and firewalls
• Experience with compliance standards and monitoring solutions
• Certifications such as CCNA and ITIL valued
