Site Reliability Engineer, Data Platforms
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Azure services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks) and Microsoft Fabric.
- Build solutions for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption that meet business requirements for performance and reliability.
- Provide operational support for our data platforms, including troubleshooting data-related issues, responding to incidents, and fulfilling support requests.
- Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Implement and enhance monitoring, alerting, and logging for all data platform components to ensure system health and proactive issue detection.
- Focus on automating manual processes, improving system reliability, and defining Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
- Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventative measures.
What You Bring
- Proven experience with data engineering, with a strong background in cloud data platforms.
- Hands-on expertise with the Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure data stack, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
- Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python or PySpark for data manipulation and pipeline development.
- Experience with data engineering support, incident management, and troubleshooting in a production environment.
- Familiarity with SRE principles and practices, including monitoring, automation, and reliability engineering.
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
