Become a key member of the University of Toronto Libraries’ Building Patrol team. As a Lead Hand, you’ll guide daily operations, schedule staff, and ensure a secure library environment.
In this full-time role, you will lead and direct the Building Patrol staff while acting as a liaison to the Manager of Security, Health & Safety. Essential skills include leadership, strong communication, and administrative expertise to ensure operational efficiency. You will conduct audits and manage security systems, maintaining the safety and integrity of the library facilities and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Schedule daily activities for Building Patrol staff
• Perform all duties of Building Patrol members
• Act as primary contact for shift schedule issues
• Lead safety checks on alarm systems and cameras
• Prepare time sheets for HR authorization
Requirements:
• Four years of related experience
• Valid Security Guard Licence
• First Aid training
• Strong judgment and analytical skills
• Effective communication skills
Experience leading and training staff while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment in academic libraries.
