Maintenance Supervisor

MERE HR is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a co-packer in Scarborough, Ontario, for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor.
This opportunity is suited to a hands-on maintenance professional who can provide day-to-day leadership, respond effectively to equipment issues and help maintain a reliable and safe production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily maintenance activities to support production requirements.
- Provide direction and technical support to maintenance employees.
- Respond to equipment issues and assist with mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Help reduce production interruptions by identifying recurring equipment concerns.
- Organize planned maintenance activities and ensure required work is completed.
- Monitor the condition of production equipment and facility-related systems.
- Arrange outside technical support when specialized repairs or services are required.
- Maintain appropriate maintenance records, work orders and equipment information.
- Assist with ordering parts, tools and supplies required by the maintenance department.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure maintenance activities follow company procedures.
- Support quality, sanitation and food-safety expectations within the facility.
- Work collaboratively with production and operations employees to address maintenance priorities.
- Coach team members and encourage accountability, productivity and continuous development.
- Support equipment upgrades, installations and operational improvement initiatives.
- Perform hands-on maintenance work when operational needs require additional support.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a maintenance leadership or senior industrial maintenance position.
- Experience within food production, packaging, co-packing or a related manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and equipment-repair capabilities.
- Experience coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance work.
- Ability to lead employees while remaining actively involved in daily maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance or work-order systems is an asset.
- Trade certification or relevant technical training is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requirements in a fast-paced production setting.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic maintenance-reporting systems.
Compensation and Schedule
- $80,000 annual salary
- Full-time, permanent employment
- Monday to Friday
- 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- In-person position in Scarborough, Ontario
