Role

Summary

You will be a primary scientific contact between Ferring and the medical community through the dissemination of, and education about, Ferring’s mission, products, disease state, and related scientific data. The MSL serves as an important partner to cross‑functional internal stakeholders and liaison to external Health Care Providers (HCPs), capturing and communicating relevant information.

Responsibilities

  • Engage healthcare providers pro‑ and reactively via innovative engagements, tactics, and formats; provide dissemination of, clarification about, and education on applicable scientific data, meeting abstracts, and professional literature to enhance product and therapeutic area awareness in alignment with local regulations.
  • Increase awareness of Ferring and its marketed products to enable HCPs to make informed therapeutic decisions through one‑on‑one, fair and balanced scientific exchange.
  • Build strategic relationships externally and contribute to internal understanding of specific HCP and key external expert (KEE) interests, expertise, and impact in the medical community.
  • Develop and execute the HCP territory engagement plan, targeting metrics.
  • Identify areas for data generation; facilitate clinical study processes for both Ferring‑sponsored and investigator‑initiated studies.
  • Attend scientific congresses to maintain a high level of scientific and technical expertise in the therapeutic area; gather and disseminate competitor activity in relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of regional and/or national advisory board and educational/scientific meetings, including presentation development and leading interactive discussions.
  • Execute the medical strategy built in alignment with the cross‑functional team.
  • Obtain a deep understanding of training simulators and educate HCPs to enhance clinical experience and understanding.
  • Complete documentation and reports to meet time requirements (e.g., ADR reports, contract execution, CRM reports, expenses) in alignment with GCP, corporate SOPs, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Graduate level degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD).
  • 3–5 years of pharmaceutical or related experience, with a minimum of 2 years as an MSL.
  • Background or experience in fertility, human reproduction, or clinical embryology is a strong asset.
  • Strong aptitude to apply and leverage scientific and medical information to establish scientific credibility and engage in meaningful peer‑to‑peer discussions.
  • Excellent scientific presentation skills.
  • Very strong people skills with a positive attitude focused on problem solving.
  • Current working knowledge of legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations and guidelines relevant to industry interactions with HCPs.
  • Self‑directed with an ability to work effectively alone and with a cross‑functional team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and accomplish goals within established timelines and budgets.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Fluent in English – written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel to meetings, including customer meetings and educational congresses; may include overnight trips. Some international travel (approximately 30‑40% travel anticipated).
