Position: Nanaimo Arena Recreation Assistant II Role
Make a difference in the community as a Recreation Assistant II at the Nanaimo Arena. This temporary role involves facilitating recreational activities and aiding public engagement on a part-time schedule.
Working under senior recreation staff, you will assist in the daily operations of the Arena Skate Shop while helping to organize various ice and dry activities. Engaging with the public and ensuring they have a great time is key, so previous experience in recreation or community service is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Arena Skate Shop operations and cleanliness
• Prepare equipment for public skating and events
• Help organize recreational activities for community members
• Assist staff during special events and activities
• Provide consistent public support and information
Requirements:
• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Valid Emergency or Standard First Aid & CPR “C” certificate required
• Interest in community service and recreation is necessary
• Verify First Aid and CPR certification with applications
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts
