Overview
The Operations Manager will oversee and direct all boutique operations to maximize productivity, ensuring smooth service and an exceptional client experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enforce Standard Operating Procedures, systems and tools as the boutique’s expert.
- Manage cash register operations: opening, balancing, closing, invoicing and bank deposits (free‑standing boutiques only).
- Ensure daily shipping & receiving accuracy, addressing all parcels within 24hours.
- Preserve inventory integrity across all divisions, conducting cycle counts, RFID scans and year‑end inventory.
- Optimize stock organization to support business results and increase sell‑through.
- Oversee RTW alterations, aligning with global guidelines and expertise.
- Create, maintain and manage boutique invoices through the internal system.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting for boutique expenditures.
- Lead change management projects and proactively drive initiatives.
- Serve as resource and trainer for Standard Operating Procedures, systems and tools.
- Oversee Chanel et Moi after‑sales: repair intake/lead‑times, local/international repairs, spare‑parts and minor in‑store repairs.
- Maintain boutique maintenance standards, coordinating with contractors/vendors, management and IT.
- Order, organize and allocate staff uniforms in collaboration with the Boutique Director and Manager.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration within the team and with Head Office.
- Adhere to health, safety and security procedures at all times.
- Coach, inspire and develop the heart‑of‑house team.
- Maintain merchandising, brand image and product standards, checking quality of incoming and outgoing merchandise.
- Adhere to dress code, grooming and conduct guidelines as per the CHANEL Charter.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of back‑office areas.
- Participate fully in training, meetings and apply high standards of customer service and product knowledge.
Qualifications and Skills
- Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong team management and mentoring skills.
- Ability to lift 15–20lbs.
- Fluent in English;
French a plus. - At least 4–6years of leadership experience in retail operations and/or stock management.
- Experience handling budgeting, forecasting and inventory systems.
- Comfortable working across multiple departments and teams.
