As the Homelessness Outreach Worker, you will report to the Coordinated Access and Assessment Manager, working directly to assist individuals in need.
Your role is crucial in fostering partnerships with shelters and service providers to create a seamless support system for those experiencing homelessness. You will employ conflict resolution skills while engaging with diverse community members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage individuals experiencing homelessness in various community locations
• Navigate housing assistance and support systems for clients
• Build relationships with local service providers
• Participate in a multidisciplinary homelessness response team
• Implement effective crisis management strategies
Requirements:
• Completion of a High School diploma and relevant post-secondary education
• Progressive experience with homelessness and crisis intervention
• Strong understanding of community resources and cultural sensitivity
• Exceptional communication skills and de-escalation techniques
• Class 5 BC driver’s license required
