Job Title: Primary Care Paramedic (PCP)
Position: Full time permanent
Hours of Work: Rotating days and nights, weekends, statutory holidays. Subject to change due to operational requirements.

Language Requirements: Written and spoken competency in one of the two official languages (English or French) is required, and spoken competency in the other official language is required.
Ambulance New Brunswick is the provincial ambulance service provider, responding to medical distress through the 911 system, and transporting patients to hospitals. Paramedics respond to approximately 130,000 calls per year and provide on‑scene and en‑route medical support, employing emergency techniques and medical treatments to ensure patient safety.
Required Qualifications
- Entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or work permit)
- Ability to work efficiently as a team member and be available for all shifts, maintaining a good attendance record
- High regard for confidentiality and patient safety
- Completion of a Primary Care Paramedic program/course of at least six months (or equivalent)
- Registered, active Paramedic with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick (or a plan to register)
- Valid New Brunswick Class 4 Driver’s Licence or equivalent

- Current Resume and Cover Letter
- A copy of your PCP diploma from an accredited institution
- Proof of current registration with the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick
- Proof of completion of a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) specific to paramedics within the last 12 months
- Proof of valid CPR Level C certification issued in the last 12 months
- Photocopy of front and back of a valid Class 4 driver’s licence (or equivalent) with at least one year of driving experience
- Driver’s abstract issued within the last 30 days
- Copy of any valid driver’s course certificate (e.g., CEVO, VFIS, NS VSP or equivalent) issued within the last three years
- Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check issued within the last 30 days
- Immunization record (Tetanus Tdap within last 10 years, 2 MMR vaccines or documented immunity, 2 Varicella vaccines or documented immunity, 3 Hepatitis B doses with documented immunity, TB skin test (2-step) within last 12 months; follow‑up chest X‑ray if reactive)
- Valid official language assessments (oral assessment only) in both French and English from the Department of Post-secondary Education, Training and Labour
- Additional training and/or education is highly valued
