What
you’ll do
- Keep the Produce Area Organized and Ready:
Keep the produce department clean, organized, and neatly zoned so it is ready for customers at all times. - Check Product Quality and Freshness:
Rotate products regularly and remove expired items to ensure freshness and quality. - Ensure Accurate Pricing and Signing:
Ensure all produce is correctly priced and signed, following proper procedures for ordering, clearance, markups and markdowns, labels, and signage. - Follow Food Safety and Cold Chain Standards:
Follow food safety, sanitation, and cold chain procedures, including temperature checks, thermometer use, proper food handling, and compliance with sell by and expiration dates. - Stock Merchandise and Set Displays:
Stock and downstock merchandise as needed, apply product protection when required, and set modulars, including flex modulars and shelf caps, to keep the department fully stocked. - Follow Health and Safety Guidelines:
Follow all Health and Safety policies to help maintain a safe and clean work environment. - Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule):
Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high‑quality service.
Potential Challenges in This Role
- High Task Volume in a Fast-Paced Environment:
Manages overnight hours effectively and plans accordingly to stay energized and focused. - Physical Demands:
Performs physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Requires attention to detail and consistency. - Energy and Focus Management:
Handles a fast-paced workload with efficiency, ensuring large volumes of restocking and recovery are completed accurately and on time.
