Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Governance
● Lead full project lifecycle from initiation to completion
● Establish governance frameworks, reporting structures, and decision-making processes
● Provide updates and strategic recommendations to City leadership and council Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)
● Lead and support collaborative delivery models such as IPD, alliance, and progressive CM
● Work closely with designers, contractors, and consultants
● Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, and alignment meetings
Stakeholder Management
● Serve as the primary point of contact between the City and all stakeholders
● Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and external agencies
● Manage communication with community members, Indigenous groups, and government bodies
Schedule, Cost & Risk Management
● Develop and manage detailed project schedules and milestones
● Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities
● Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
● Participate in shared contingency and risk pool discussions
Consultant & Contractor Oversight
● Support procurement and onboarding of consultants and service providers
● Monitor deliverables, timelines, and performance
● Manage contracts, change orders, and compliance requirements
Reporting & Documentation
● Prepare regular project status reports (schedule, cost, risks, decisions)
● Maintain documentation, including risk logs, decision logs, and issue tracking
● Support audit and compliance requirements
Project Close-Out & Transition
● Manage project completion, handover, and operational transition
● Ensure documentation, warranties, and final reports are completed
● Capture lessons learned and provide final project evaluation
Required Qualifications & Experience
Must-Have
● Proven experience managing municipal or infrastructure capital projects
● Experience in complex, multi-stakeholder project environments
● Strong expertise in:
○ Project scheduling and budgeting
○ Stakeholder communication
○ Risk management
Mandatory Experience
● Hands-on experience with Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) or similar models
● Familiarity with Canadian construction contract standards:
○ CCDC 30 (IPD)
○ CCDC 5A / 5B
Preferred
● Experience in the public sector or government projects
● Experience managing high-value projects ($50M+)
● Experience working with cross-functional teams, including designers, contractors, and consultants
