Quality Assurance Tester
Location Address: Toronto– hybrid – onsite 3x/week (Mon-Wed)
Contract Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Business group: GWE – Product Strategy, Asset Management
Project: The successful candidate will work on the iFast application. There are 5 releases/year and the QA will be testing the releases.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and Java
• Build scalable automation frameworks to support regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Execute automated tests to support CI/CD pipelines
• Develop and run tests using both manual and automated test strategies – key focus Investor Recording Keeping System
• Perform database testing to validate data integrity
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to define effective test strategies and schedules based on project scope
• Identify automatable test cases to support manual testers and reduce regression effort
• Log and track software defects using a bug tracking system
• Participate in post-production testing, occasionally outside regular business hours, including weekend validations when required
• Writes clear and concise defect reports, advocates for user experience quality, and works with product owners and developers to triage and prioritize issues
• Collaborates with development teams to determine appropriate use of automated and manual testing, create test data, and execute exploratory, regression, migration, and user acceptance tests
• Actively contributes to exploratory testing during sprints, leads testing workshops, and supports manual testers by identifying automatable test cases
Must Have Skills:
1. 4+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Tester ((Skilled in designing test approaches, developing strategies and plans, and aligning test cases with organizational standards)
2. 4+ years of hands-on automation experience
3. Experience with back-office systems (e.g. iFAST, AWD)
4. Experience working in an Agile lab environment is essential
5. Good working knowledge of MS Project, MS Office and MS Visio
Nice-To-Have Skills:
• Familiarity with SaaS and cloud-based operating model.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes, integrating automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline.
• CBAP or other BA Certification
• Work experience in a financial services industry
• Proficient in JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git, and experienced with test management plugins like X-ray or Zephyr
Best VS. Average Candidate:
-the ideal candidate would have the CBAP or BA certifications and would have FI experience.
