Role: Quality Control Technician
The responsibilities for this position:
- Keep facilities and equipment clean and in good working order
- Keep all equipment calibrated as required by ASTM/CSA/CPCQA
- Test aggregates for moisture content
- Strip, cap, and break cylinders according to ASTM, CSA, ACI, CCIL, etc.
- Perform all concrete tests in a consistent and accurate manner
- Assist Quality Manager during CPCQA and CSA Quality Audits
- Report data clearly, accurately, and timely as directed by the QC Manager
- Maintain filing systems as required by the QC Manager
- Be able to use computer systems: Outlook, Microsoft applications, and other basic programs
- Performs other duties as assigned by the QC Manager
Qualifications:
- Must have proven ability to be self-motivated and be able to work with limited supervision
- Must have the ability to acquire skills to perform the job description
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Alberta driver’s license
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must have good organization and planning skills with the ability to multitask
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude
- Must project professionalism with both customers and co-workers
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in outdoor and indoor work environments
- Must be physically fit and able to work long hours as required
- Able to perform a variety of tasks, including moderate to heavy lifting, standing for extended periods
