Position Summary
Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the successful applicant will provide comprehensive nursing care in the surgical program and must meet the following criteria.
Educational Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college or university nursing program
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
Mandatory Qualifications
- 1 year of current (within 2 years) surgical experience
- Able to perform venipuncture and I.V. starts

- Excellent patient assessment skills
- Well‑developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Technical
- Self‑directed individual able to work independently and within an inter‑professional team
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professionalism in nursing

- Ability to multitask and set priorities in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to establish work relationships with external partners
- Reliable individual with excellent attendance record
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a team focus
Preferred Competencies
- Experience in patient teaching
