Job Information
The Cook provides food services for the center within departmental and territorial guidelines for operational standards in the Correctional Division. This position is indirectly responsible for residents at meal times, to assist in the implementation and instruction of those residents participating in an apprenticeship cook program. As part of the Corrections Division, the incumbent will ensure the ingoing provision and enforcement of policy and services within the Corrections Mission, Vision and Value statement.

Skills and Abilities

- Proven ability to plan and prepare meals for large numbers of people
- Knowledge of food service procedures and practices and applicable health, safety (WHMIS), and sanitation standards
- Proven ability to adapt and be flexible in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work in a diverse environment
Typically attained by
Completion of a Red Seal Trades Certificate (3 year program) or 3 years general food service experience in a camp or institutional setting. First Aid/CPR and a valid class 4 driver
