RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

Department / Research Program: BRAIN

The incumbent will set up and manage the international clinical trial “Can Priming Enhance Rehabilitation Success in Progressive MS? – The Can-PRIME MS Trial”. This will entail setting up a RedCAP database, provide training to the sites on data transmission, and conduct analyses on the data on an ongoing basis, over seen by Professor Nancy Mayo.

General Duties

  • Set up RedCap database,
  • Train staff,
  • Conduct analyses.

Standards of performance

  • Knowledge of Mulitple Sclerosis,
  • Proficient in using RedCAP and training others,
  • Proficient in SAS, R, and Python,
  • Profiient in statistical methods,
  • Proficient in drafting statistical tables.

Education: Doctorate Degree

Field of Study: Health

Other education considered an asset for this position: Doctoral level

Work Experience: 10 years

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of French is required.
  • An advanced knowledge of oral English and an intermediate knowledge of written English are required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
  • Knowledge of Multiple Sclerosis,
  • Knowldege of health outcomes,
  • Proficiency in RedCap and multiple statistical packages,
  • Able to construct statistical tables to summarize results,
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical methods.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, part-time: 22 hours

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: Other or part-time
