Scrum Master Jobs in Langley, Canada at DASRO CONSULTING
Dasro is looking for a Scrum Master (Senior) for one of its clients in Calgary, AB
Location:
Calgary, AB (Hybrid: Mon/Tue/Thu onsite, Wed/Fri remote)
Industry: Utilities and Energy
Term: 12 months (8 hours per day / 40 hours per week)
Start date:
07/22/2026
Responsibilities
- Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, driving adoption of Agile best practices within a high-visibility, 4-person AI POD
- Partner with the Product Owner to manage and prioritize AI-focused backlogs ranging from classical ML forecasting to agentic solution development and third-party vendor integrations
- Remove impediments, manage cross-workstream dependencies, and mitigate delivery risks to maintain sprint momentum across data engineering, ML development, and data science simultaneously
- Track and report Agile metrics adapted for an AI prototyping setting, providing concise, outcome-focused updates for director and executive stakeholders to inform broader AI investment strategies
- Coach team members on continuous improvement, predictability, and self-organization within a legacy, traditionally non-agile enterprise culture
- Promote regular reflection on processes and opportunities for improvement, establishing and actively protecting agile practices from outside corporate friction
- Maintain a working understanding of AI/GenAI delivery life cycles, including familiarity with LLMs, multi-agent systems, RAG, embeddings, and vector databases
- Engage meaningfully with AI engineers and architects on technical topics, navigate AWS data pipeline and infrastructure constraints, and maintain awareness of MLOps/LLMOps and productionization challenges
- Enable effective collaboration across cross-functional teams—product, data engineering, AI/ML development, and platform—ensuring sprint outcomes align with broader product goals under a rapid experimentation, fail-fast model
- Operate with minimal oversight, serving as the foundational operational glue of the pod, driving outcomes independently without a middle management layer
- Expected to work without considerable direction, establishing the delivery model and sprint cadence as a priority hire onboarded before the technical practitioners, while mentoring and supervising team members as needed
Mandatory Qualifications
- 8–10 years of dedicated Agile‑Scrum experience, with a resume showing sustained Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead roles rather than occasional exposure within traditional project management or BA work
- Demonstrated experience leading Agile teams specifically within an AI, machine learning, or data engineering team environment (standard software feature delivery experience alone will not be considered)
- Proven ability to lead delivery in a rapid experimentation model where sprint outcomes are frequently non‑deterministic or inconclusive
- Complete work authorization in Canada without restriction
Desired Qualifications
- Experience actively standing up and bootstrapping Agile practices within a traditionally non‑agile enterprise corporate culture
- Energy sector or industrial domain experience, including familiarity with pipeline and infrastructure operations terminology
- Active PSM, CSM, SAFe, or equivalent Scrum/Agile certification
- Strong capability translating complex AI work streams into clear, actionable user stories for non‑technical Product Owners and stakeholders
