Position: Senior ESRI Small world Consultant / Solution Architect
A technology consultancy headquartered in Canada, United States, and India with a focus on GIS applications across North America.
Job Description
Lead the end‑to‑end architecture, delivery, and technical leadership of enterprise GIS solutions spanning design, migration, and integration across utility, telecom, and gas clients, leveraging GE Small world and ESRI platforms.
Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Architecture:
Lead design across GE Small world suite and architect ESRI ArcGIS solutions, developing scalable enterprise GIS architectures. - Migration & Data Integration:
Drive migrations from GE Small world to ESRI Utilities using FME, CIM Adapter, Python ETL, and define spatial data models and interfaces with enterprise systems. - Technical Leadership & Quality:
Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, ensure best coding, testing, and deployment practices, and act as SME in client discussions and RFPs. - Stakeholder & Project Management:
Manage timelines, resources, scope, risks, and deliverables; translate business needs into technical solutions and present to non‑technical stakeholders. - Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
Stay current on GIS/cloud/container trends, recommend enhancements to tools, processes, and technology stacks. - System Administration & Governance:
Collaborate with IT/Ops for infrastructure setup, performance, and security, aligning with enterprise architecture, security, and data governance frameworks.
Required Skills & Experience
- GE Small world ecosystem (Core SW4/5, PNI, EO, GDO, GSS, GSA, Design Manager, NRM, K8) with strong Magik customizations and VMDS/Oracle handling.
- ESRI Platform:
ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise, Portal, Utility Network model. - Programming & Integration:
Expert in Magik, Java, Python, SQL, shell scripting; integration via REST/SOAP, middleware, and ETL. - Spatial Data & ETL Tools: FME, CIM Adapter, Oracle/PostGIS.
- Utility/Telecom Domain:
Asset lifecycle, network planning, outage management, and field operations across electric, gas, telecom infrastructure. - Enterprise Architecture & Governance:
Familiar with TOGAF/data governance for scalable deployments. - Development Methodologies & Dev Ops:
Agile workflows, CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, performance monitoring. - Leadership & Communication:
Proven senior leadership, mentorship, and client‑facing proficiency.
Preferred
Skills & Qualifications
- Certification in ESRI or Small world GIS, TOGAF, or related.
- Experience with cloud‑native GIS architectures (Azure, AWS, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with field mobility tools (ArcGIS Field Maps, Small world Mobile).
- Integration knowledge with ERP/SAP/Maximo and OSS/BSS platforms.
- Exposure to COTS systems, work order tools, and outage management suites.
