Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer

Location:
Ontario – ideally Northern Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical HVAC engineering design packages from concept development through detailed engineering, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with project goals.
- Develop mechanical HVAC systems, specifications, calculations, and deliverables that support safe, reliable, and high‑performing operations for mining, metals, and heavy industrial clients.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical design with process, structural, electrical, controls, and construction requirements.
- Review designs, drawings, and engineering documents to ensure quality, constructability, and adherence to industry codes and best practices.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to intermediate and junior engineers, supporting team growth and capability development.
- Engage directly with clients, contractors, and internal partners to solve complex technical challenges and advance project delivery.
Skills & Qualifications
- University Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- At least 15 years of mechanical engineering experience in mining and heavy industrial projects.
- Experience with flue gas, dust collection, and ventilation ducting is an asset.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada, or eligibility for one.
- Proven experience solving real‑world engineering challenges, from equipment specification to system design and integration.
- Comfortable working in the field or on site as required, with strict adherence to safety requirements.
- Working proficiency with mechanical design and modeling tools, and a commitment to continuous technical growth.
Compensation
- AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 – $162,800
- MB & ON: $112,100 – $154,400
- NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $111,000 – $147,400
The final salary awarded for this role may vary based on relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
