Senior Power Platform Consultant

Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a Senior Power Platform Consultant to support a Big Five Bank
. This role is focused on end-to-end ownership of Power Platform initiatives
, including strategy, governance, stakeholder engagement, and delivery oversight.

Note: This is a senior advisory and delivery leadership role. It is not a hands-on development position.

Client: Big Five Bank

Term: 6-month contract with strong possibility of a 12-month extension

Location: Hybrid – Downtown Toronto (2 days per week onsite)

Hours: hours/week (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM)

Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, the Senior Power Platform Consultant / Product Owner is accountable for the end-to-end management, delivery, and governance of Microsoft Power Platform services across the enterprise.

The successful consultant will act as a trusted advisor and platform owner
, working closely with business stakeholders, technology partners, and external vendors to ensure Power Platform solutions are well governed, scalable, and aligned to enterprise standards and business objectives.

This role requires strong consulting, product, and project leadership capabilities, with deep knowledge of Power Platform, BI, and analytics enablement within large, regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities
Platform Ownership & Strategy

  • Serve as the enterprise owner of Microsoft Power Platform
    , operating as part of a Center of Excellence (CoE) supporting multiple lines of business.
  • Define and evolve the Power Platform strategy, roadmap, and governance model to ensure long-term sustainability and enterprise alignment.
  • Contribute to and influence platform standards, policies, and best practices.
  • End-to-End Delivery & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead Power Platform initiatives from intake through delivery
    , including requirements gathering, solution design oversight, implementation planning, and post-launch support.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, ensuring needs are clearly understood, prioritized, and delivered.
  • Partner with Lines of Business, Technology, Information Security, Risk Management, PMO, Change Management, and external vendors to drive successful outcomes.
  • Governance, Enablement & Adoption

  • Guide teams and stakeholders through enterprise governance, compliance, and security requirements related to Power Platform usage.
  • Design and support self-service enablement strategies
    , including user onboarding, training roadmaps, and adoption frameworks.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on platform capabilities, limitations, and best-use scenarios.
  • Advisory & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline business processes
    , improving efficiency and reducing manual reporting and analytics efforts.
  • Advise on new Power Platform features, Microsoft Fabric capabilities, and emerging analytics tools.
  • Promote a culture of innovation while balancing enterprise risk, governance, and architectural standards.
  • Project & Risk Management

  • Oversee multiple concurrent initiatives, proactively managing risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery milestones

  • Support release planning, platform upgrades, and test-and-learn initiatives without direct coding responsibilities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    This role works closely with:

  • Senior leaders and executives across the enterprise
  • Business and analytics teams across multiple Lines of Business
  • Internal technology, architecture, security, and risk teams
  • External vendors and consulting partners
  • Decision-Making Authority

  • Recommend changes to business processes, platform usage, and governance models to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Influence strategic decisions related to analytics, self-service BI, and Power Platform adoption.
  • Knowledge & Experience Required

    What we’re looking for:

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Power Platform
    , O365, Azure, and hybrid (on-prem/cloud) environments.
  • Practical experience with Power Platform CoE tooling and integrated Microsoft services, including Microsoft Fabric.
