Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Urology Manager, the Service Worker plays a key role in supporting the daily operations across the Urology, Surgery, Orthopedics and ENT departments. This position is responsible for ensuring smooth patient flow, maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment, restocking supplies, preparing exam and procedure rooms, assisting with patient transport, and providing general support to clinical staff. The Service Worker also offers relief and assistance to team members as needed to ensure efficient, coordinated care across all service areas.

Description:

As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be physically capable of lifting, pushing, and transferring loads over 50 lbs on a regular basis. May be required to assist healthcare providers with safe patient transfers to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, or exam tables. Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, and repetitive motion. Strong motivation and excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to frequent interruptions and shifting priorities. Experience with handling, transporting, and restocking medical supplies and equipment is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Familiarity with infection control practices, workplace safety procedures, and confidentiality standards in a healthcare setting. May be required to transport patients, supplies, and equipment between different clinical areas within the facility.
