Opportunity

Term full‑time (35 hrs/wk) Human Resources Recruiter position will commence in Summer 2026 until June 30, 2027, in the Human Resources department. This position will be located at the Education Centre in Airdrie, AB.

The Human Resources (HR) Recruiter is responsible for the full‑cycle recruitment of all positions in RVS to align with RVS’ strategic plan. The HR Recruiter provides support to all members of the Human Resources team, as well as RVS leadership across the division. The HR Recruiter is the first point of contact for prospective RVS employees and represents RVS at schools and post‑secondary institution functions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct full‑cycle recruitment process including job posting, advertising, interviewing, referencing, onboarding, and data entry in the Human Resources Management System (HRMS).
  • Assist in preparation of job descriptions and participate in job evaluations.
  • Establish recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives and collaborating with supervisors on staffing needs.
  • Act as subject‑matter expert on the applicant tracking system and HRMS.
  • Update job questionnaires regularly to ensure consistency across RVS.
  • Coordinate interview schedules, prepare interview documents, set up meeting rooms and applicable equipment/technologies.
  • Interview candidates and complete skill‑testing processes required.
  • Facilitate reference checks for candidates.
  • Prepare job offer documents and communicate terms to successful candidates.
  • Manage applicant pool and communicate with unsuccessful applicants.
  • Ensure all required documents are submitted by new employees timely.
  • Assist RVS employees with HR related issues and inquiries.
  • Create and facilitate professional learning presentations related to resume writing, interview tips, and career development.
  • Coach and train RVS leaders on recruitment best practices, interviewing best practices and applicant tracking software.
  • Prepare statistical reports from HRMS and other projects as assigned.
  • Organize and attend job fairs and maintain candidate files for future employment opportunities.
  • Provide input into the annual recruiting plan and budget.
  • Participate in the annual teacher transfer and placement process.
  • Coordinate internal and external committee meetings and maintain meeting documentation.

Education / Experience

  • Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources or related field.
  • Current Registered Professional Recruitment Designation considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years’ progressive experience in an HR environment.
  • Previous experience within a school division is considered an asset.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of recruitment best practices and applicable legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to establish collaborative working relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Outstanding organization, time‑management and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with a variety of complex and sensitive issues professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web‑based applications.
  • Working knowledge of HRMS considered an asset.
