Position: Trade Spend Analyst
About the Opportunity Trade Spend & Deduction Management (50%)
• Review, process, and validate trade promotions, discounts, and rebates in accordance with customer agreements
• Upload and maintain trade promotions within D365 or related systems, ensuring accurate application to invoices and accruals
• Analyze and track all customer deductions, including trade-related claims, pricing discrepancies, and logistics-related deductions
• Investigate and resolve invalid or unsupported deductions by working with internal stakeholders and customers
• Monitor and manage approximately $8M in annual deductions, ensuring timely resolution and financial accuracy
• Review, validate, and clear deductions, ensuring alignment with contractual terms and company policies Financial Accounting & Reporting (25%)
• Support the preparation and accuracy of trade accruals, ensuring completeness and alignment with ongoing promotional activity
• Partner with Sales to understand trade activity and ensure accurate financial treatment
• Prepare and analyze reports related to deductions, aging, trade spend trends, and key metrics for management review
• Monitor AR aging related to deductions and identify risks or anomalies
• Contribute to month-end close activities, including reconciliations and variance analysis related to trade spend
• Ensure trade spend is accurately reflected in financial statements and aligned with internal controls. Accounts Receivable & Customer Support (15%)
• Collaborate with Accounts Receivable to manage and resolve outstanding deductions and balances
• Communicate directly with customers via phone and email to resolve discrepancies and support payment processing
• Follow up on outstanding balances related to deductions and disputes
• Support credit hold management and release decisions based on account status Collaboration, Systems & Process Improvement (10%)
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Customer Service, and Operations to resolve issues and improve processes
• Support the ongoing use and optimization of D365 and trade promotion systems
• Participate in process improvement initiatives related to trade spend management and deduction workflows
• Maintain accurate documentation and records to support audit and compliance requirements
Trade Spend & About You
• 2+ years of experience handling similar duties
• Strong Excel (Pivot Tables)
• Trade Spend/Deduction experience is a must
• Been around/involved in an implementation is an asset, MS Dynamics is being implemented. Pay Range $30 $ 33 per hour
