Position: Urban Litter Collector for City
Help maintain the beauty of North Vancouver as a full-time Urban Litter Collector this summer. Engage in hands-on work that significantly enhances public spaces across the city.
The City of North Vancouver’s Infrastructure, Transportation & Parks department is hiring temporary litter collectors from May until November 2026. Your responsibilities will include using hand tools to collect litter and keep city streets, parks, and plazas clean. You may also report damages and pick up missed residential waste, with the added responsibility of driving a vehicle on assigned routes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Use hand tools to collect litter and debris
• Clean sidewalks, plazas, and park areas regularly
• Conduct minor maintenance on containers and report damage
• Drive light-duty vehicles on designated routes
• Collect residential garbage missed by solid waste crews
Requirements:
• Knowledge of City streets and geographical layout
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License necessary
• Experience in manual labor and outdoor work
• Availability for weekend shifts required
• Excellent interpersonal skills for working with the public
